and the mystery photo is of....

....two spider legs.

They were all that was left in Zoralee's mouth after I heard her gag and then swallow. At first I thought it was a bit of string, because she loves to find those around. But when I held it close to my eyes and saw the tiny hairs, I freaked. "That is DIS-GUST-ING, honey! Yucky! Yucky!" I was instantly ashamed of myself, because I'm the one who said during spregnancy that we should let the child eat bugs as a sort of introduction to world food. Jason had said we shouldn't, since some bugs could be poisonous or dangerous. At that point, I only half-heartedly conceded. But when it actually happened, I sure reacted strongly. And I wasn't thinking a bit about the poison potential but simply the idea of eating a spider.

I was so glad I'd recently nursed her and wouldn't need to again for a few hours. Can you imagine if I'd been nursing her and that spider came crawling out of her mouth? Now that's a horror flick; how's about it, Hollywood?

Funny thing is that earlier in the day, Jason had been getting the heebee jeebees over Zoralee scraping a rock on her teeth (by the way, the second bottom one is coming in). He would go into a full body convulsion whenever he envisioned her tooth cracking. See, and that didn't bother me at all, though I agreed we shouldn't let her do it.

Well, thanks for playing along, friends! What fun. If you missed the photo, scroll down to two entries below.

BLECH! I KNEW they were spider legs, and it STILL grossed me out! Yeah, arachnaphobe, right here. That picture of the spider crawling out onto your boob was enough to send me into convulsions....

my kid likes to scrape his teeth on rocks, too. What is UP with THAT? Can't they feel how aweful it is?

p.s. I'm so relating to your domesticity post, though not the sewing. I hate sewing. I can't sew. I want to melt my sewing machine to a slow death in a fire every time I use the darn thing. FAR. TOO. FINICKY. So, I admire your efforts! My fave is the skirt sewn to the onesie. VERY creative! Ingenius!

Yes!

That is so insanely gross that my tummy is churning and I had to stop eating my poptart. That's right... I'm eating poptarts because I'm on a deadline and they make me happy. So what?

Anyways, THAT IS SICK! I am gagging.

By the way, last night I dreamed she had a full mouth of teeth! Maybe I was dreaming that while she was scraping rocks to ruin the one tiny tooth she has. Hmmm...

Mezmur almost ate a dried up worm before I spotted it in her mouth. I sort of freaked out, but HEY, it's protein...right?
A friend of mine had a 2-year-old who turned to her with a dead rat in her mouth, so it could be worse. :)
The rock on the teeth story gives me the chills!

I could have gone the rest of my life without knowing this. And I've been kissing her! Yes, blech and gag! But definitely preferable to a rat.

Oh my heavens. That is one wild little Zoralee you got there. Feasting on such things should be outlawed I agree. BLECH. Nice visual with the spider on the boob Lori...good fodder for nightmares. Yucky creepy crawlies. I think I would have passed out!!!!!!!!!!
