I've got me a 3 year old and a 6 monther

These pictures are from a couple weeks ago, but they get across the two coinciding points that I've got fast-growing children and that time waits for no mama. We're on vacation to visit Jason's family on the east coast, so I've got a lot to post when we get home. Meanwhile, Zoralee turned three the second day of our trip and Ziah turned six months today! Ziah weighs 17 pounds on Nana's scale. I'd have to look back at my extensively well-organized records,* but if memory serves me right, Zoralee was like 18 pounds at the age of 2. Don't quote me on that. Point is, these two are built differently, and it shows - - in the thighs, among other places.

Gosh, I wish I could tell you the things each of them are doing, but we've got zoos and Christmas lights and cousins to see, and cookies and cakes and other piles of carbohydrates to consume, so I'm not in a good position to bloggity-blog-blog all the live long day.

Except, that last sentence reminds me of one of Zoralee's quotes from a couple weeks ago. I told her not to sass me (can't remember the context), and she said, "I AM gonna be sassy all the live long day to you!" So, how 'bout them apples.

This was the best gift ever! I miss you so desperately on vacation, and to awaken to a special blog post written just for me (or, I guess, for everyone, but whateve) was just a pure delight!

Ziah is basically 1lb smaller than Bennett... hahahaha! I love it. I still have that vision of Ziah carrying Bennett around over his shoulder, and it appears that day will be sooner than I ever imagined.

Love you. Travel safe. Post more blogs.

I can't believe that this post has been on here for a whole day and I didn't know it!!

I love the pictures! But has Ziah started wearing lipstick since he's been back east? At least he hasn't lost his concerned expression ☺

I think you're right on Z's weight. Wasn't it like 18 or 19 pounds on the airport baggage scale last Christmas? (You've got the same filing system there that I've got for David's baby book. I taught you well :) I'd really like to know how that sassy quote episode ended too.

Have loads of fun with the family! Love you and miss you all.

Man. Those pictures are fab. And your kids are hilarious. And, dude, did you laugh your head off when Zoralee said that about sassing you? I love that girl. I'm sure she isn't the easiest kid to parent in the whole world, but she is definitely my hero.

So, right, Sassy Episode #37 (seems she's in that phase). How it went down is that I burst out laughing - long and hard. I had to put my head down on the steering wheel. Fortunately, we were parked, in a parking lot, and not driving, so I could do that. Then I told her I was laughing at the words she said, not how she said them (all sassily). I can't really chalk that one up to either a positive or negative reaction on my part or a lesson learned or wasted on hers. I don't even know.
