To participate, simply click "comments" at the end of this post and state your guesses. Anybody can do it; if you don't have a blogger account, comment as "anonymous" and be sure to include your name in the message. We won't close the contest until the baby is born. The prize for whomever's answers are the most accurate will be....something. You can safely figure it will be homemade or worth less than $10, but where you'll be lacking in fortune, you'll make up for in fame when I announce you as the winner here on the blog!
Useful to know: the due date is December 3rd or 4th (it switches, depending on the chart used, maybe because this was a leap year). I'll be 39 weeks along out of 40 this Wednesday. The baby seems low-key; it's not super wiggly, but it is very responsive to touch, as we know by the heartbeat variations and movement when we or the midwife jostle it this way or that. Oh! Two weeks ago, Marcy felt him/her to be just under 7 pounds.
Things to guess about:
- the baby's sex
- weight
- length
- arrival date
- arrival time
- most surprising feature
- any other guesses! (this can only up your chances)

I (Darla Baliko) guess this:
Boy
December 10th at 9:57 AM
Weighing 7 lbs, 10 oz
21 inches long
The "bonus" guess is that your labor will be shorter and easier than you imagined, and that you'll crave lasagna after you give birth and settle in. (Maybe the power of suggestion will work for me here.)
Best wishes; we're so excited for you!

Boy
7 lbs 8oz
21 inches
Dec. 11
12 a.m.
Cute, blond hair, Big smile
This is me Grandma Stoffer and he has to wait until I arrive on the 10th. Just kidding Lori.
This baby boy will be born at 4:10 am on December 5th, which is 10 years from the day his favorite Aunt Darbi wed Mike in McGuire auditorium in Portland, OR, otherwise known as "a day of great luck and huge love piles heaped upon thee which are born or married upon this day". His surprising features will be his thick, fly everywhere hair, his piercing green eyes and his long, piano playing fingers.
Weighing in at 6lb. 13oz. and a little longer than a football, he'll be the sweetest thing the world has seen since the Johnson boys were born.
You think you know what love is now Jason and Lori...just you wait!!! Totally stoked for you!
